Trip to Hampi

The best time to Hampi would be between October to February. Actually anytime after the rains have started.

We went to Hampi in end Jan early Feb. The first thing we did on arrival was visit Mango Tree restaurant for a sumptuous vegetarian meal.

Walk around Hampi is in two parts,the Temple complex and excavations at Vijayanagaram. The latter is now declared as aUN Heritage sight.

Temple complex walk starts at Ganesha temple and ends at Ugra Narasimha temple.

What is PHUSKULI?

As kids we used to burst crackers during Divali;mostly non-sound variety. The bigger children were allowed to burst the noisy ones. Kids in the morning used to collect the remnants of the noisy ones and bend them into two prongs. All of these used to be arranged in a circle and a lighted match dropped in the centre. The whole effort would make a weepy puu..ss. The effort was not worth it and we used to call it a phuskuli. I have created many phuskulies in my life,but the ideas were of a Divali 'atom bomb' proportion. Many of these efforts were thus fruitless not because of their background or content.
I have tried all my life to find out the reasons for these disappointments,but have'nt found any.
May be one day my 'phuskuli' will turn into an 'atom bomb'
I am not going to give up!!
